Annual greeting cards to family and friends began as an amusing creative challenge, then became a tradition of sorts. Beginning in 1988, a few years after our marriage, we sent out a black-and-white photograph for our holiday card (the one below). The response was overwhelming, and the anticipation for the next year's card grew more intense with each subsequent effort.
The mailings lasted until we left the country. And, even though we missed some years—such as the year our house burned a few days before Thanksgiving—it was a good run. We always tried to make them fun and amusing, some more so than others. We hope you enjoy them!
(On a side note, after the house fire, we thought about taking a picture among the burned out ruins, but were so overwhelmed with the salvage operation that we never got around to it. I still wish we had.)
